In light of today’s information…

I’m not so certain I want to work for Apple any more:

Pros:

  • Apple
  • Not here
  • Change of pace
  • Better pay

Cons:

  • Shitty hours: 6 AM – 1 PM or 1 PM – 10 PM
  • Sales quotas
  • Higher cost of living
  • No projects of my own, just consulting

I just don’t know what to do at all. I’m going to the interview seminar, but I’m pretty bummed. Any advice?

the sales quotas aren’t bad…it’s not so much like hard core competing for sales..as much as answering questions b/c noone really knows exactly what they want/need ..

the hours are shitty, though … ;0/

Take the job if it’s offered. You’re almost 22, and you’re not going to find a dream job that easily. Show your future employers that you take risks, add a reputable company to your resume and sell something that you are passionate about.

I first wrote, “You’re only 21,” but changed it since your birthday was so close. Changing it to, “You’re almost 22,” screwed up the message.

Go for it, get the experience, look for a better job while you are doing it. You will be in a bigger area=more opportunities. Plus a lot of companies promote from within…and you will get use to the hours.
